I am not in anyway condoning or hoping that there are shootings in cork, and even though there have been a few maybe 3/4 over the years there seems to be no gangland shootings there,i am sure it has its violence & drugs etc but compared to limerick,Dublin and even sligo it seems pretty quite in that regard down there, what are they doing that other cities or towns cant,

Yes i know there have been a few(rip to them all)but as Ireland's second city & comparing to other parts of the country it seems pretty well low.

Why the need for hand-held weapons when you've got voices that could shatter glass...? :pac:

Seriously though, for a long time, Cork (in general) managed to escape the clutches of heroin, however that's no longer the case.

This is true! :) Through not so non-violent intimidation, it was kept out for the most part.

Now though is a different story! We could use the violent fella's from the 80's who kept it out, but alot of them are in a fairly bad way by now. Other people are too apathetic to do anything about it. :(

Threats of anecdotes about Shandon in the good old days? That sort of thing?

    *shudder*

I would say it is because the drug trade in Cork is controlled by gangs outside of the city such as those in Limerick and Dublin. I think the number of stabbings is starting to increase though.

But he is from cork, so that just proves it.

Theres so little crime in cork, that budding jessica fletchers have to go to limerick for some proper blood and guts

Maybe because drowning your adversary in the Lee works is easier to get away with than blowing his brains out on Pana.

They pull a lot of bodies out of that river.Post mortems on manky, fishgnawed, bloated corpses must be a nightmare.

As long as you make sure it's death by drowning and don't bash him up too much in the process they'll probably call it suicide.

They'd eath anything down there. They still have 2 more years before they fully recover from the potato famine

You'd have to factor in the different breed of copper down there, also.

They keep a tight lid on things, but another Donegal in the making.

    Purely anecdotal.

That's to lull you into a sense of security, a fella comes up to you with a Tallaght accent your back is up against the wall and you're on alert, a Cork accent and you are buying a round of drinks! :D
