DNS settings

I want my PC to use the specific UPC DNS servers ..... so I obviously need to go into the settings and edit them in IPV4 I am not sure if I also need to change them in my router, which is a Netgear WNR3500L ... I see in the router setting that I can edit the DNS setting there too, is it necessary to do it in the router…
