    Personally, I feel that back road is a little bit of a pain to traverse given the narrow-enough roads and the amount of traffic that regularly takes it. Not to mind the level-crossing at Clonsilla which stops even more now with the new train line.

    Where do you actually come from though?

    clonskeagh - get on m50 at dundrum.

    templeogue could be an option as well but have time down to tee - think that could be longer!

    stay on til blanch and suck it up i guess!

    Don't bother with the back road. I used to do it when the M50 was in bits, I never do anymore, it's not worth it. Takes forever and as TheChrisD said, if you get caught at the level crossing "forever" gets a lot longer. Plus the road floods quite a bit.

    You'd probably spend the same on fuel going up the back rounds. Going down the M50 would save you a lot more time
