Did you plough and then till or direct drill or stitch-in.Personally no matter what way you did it I wouldnt dream of putting slurry out on emerging seeds. You have the issue of physical damage to the soil plus you will smother some of the seedlings and docks will get an immediate hold in your new grass.Thats my tuppence worth anyway.

So slurry on emerged new grass is a no no? What about applying slurry directly after rolling in seed??

My neighbour put slurry on emerging grass seeds a few years ago. He killed off all the grass and had to reseed the field again.

If it needs a bit of a boost apply a few bags of nitrogen even though growth will be slowing down from now onwards.

I applied the slurry directly after rolling in the seed. 3 weeks on and there is a great grass growth (despite all the rain in the last week). Probably the best I ever got.

Whatever about putting out slurry on emerging grass, its safe to put in on the seed after rolling.

its ok if the slurry is well watered down , but if you put out thick slurry and get a few hot days afterwards it could cake on the surface and slow down the seed from emerging.
