I've got a factory sealed iPhone 4 and it's week 32 on Three and don't want to open if it's version 4.0.2 I would like to ask if anyone else got a week 32 phone that came with version 4.0.2 For those who don't know how to determine the week number it is the fourth & fifth digits of the serial number.

Is there any way to know for sure what version it is without breaking the seal.

    Forgive me,

I'm buying a three iPhone. Whats this about weeks?

What difference does 4.0.2 make? Wouldn't it be possible to upgrade? Or am I being really silly here, is this in relation to jailbreaking and having a version that can be broken?

Sorry but i'm buying an iPhone and want to be sure that nothig funny is happening with three before I buy!

    Thanks

When we speak about weeks, we are talking about week of manufacture

4.0.2 cannot be software unlocked. I do not want to upgrade. Version 4.0.1 is required for unlocking.

So long as you're happy to stay with Three and don't envisage the need to use a non 3 sim in your iPhone, then you're ok.

you can update to the most up to date firmware when you sync to iTunes. 4.0.2 is out of date now and the latest is 4.1.
