Bull beef rations

    Hello all,
I know beef rations have been discussed here before, but how are ye finding things since the prices went up in the past few months. I am currently looking for a ration to feed bulls ad-lib. They were born in spring 09. I have been advised by various people to use plenty maize meal as it is an excellent source of energy and helps deliver a cover of fat. How do ye find this as opposed to Barley. I am looking for a high energy-low protein ration. Quoted prices are around €240/t for a ration with 70% maize meal. Is this too expensive? Bear in mind i live in the west of the country!

You haven't said if its in bags or bulk collected/delivered? Weanling ration in 25kg bags in midlands is 278e ton collected. I know it's not the same as a bull ration but it is high energy, low protein with a high molasses content to make it palatable.
