Brendan O' Connor wrote an article in yesterday's Sunday Indo about the birth of his baby daughter 2 weeks ago. His daughter was born with Down's Syndrome.
It is one of these articles that stops you in your tracks and really makes you reflect and cry even. He tells the story of the birth and the last 2 weeks of his life with such honesty, he is angry, grieving and reflective. He is heartbroken yet hopeful. Its a brilliant piece - if thats the right word, fair play to him for being so honest. He mentions in the article that he and his wife don't want any sympathy and i'm sure they don't need or want sympathy from strangers but it was impossible not to shed a tear or 2 for him.
    Worth a read.
