Gigging Together: Any Bands interested

I am in a band playing original music and am looking to book a few gigs for the back end of November or early December.

Problem is our set list is only about an hour at the moment (although growing!) and we are a relatively new band.

Just wondering if any bands would be interested in getting together to do a couple of gigs. We could share the costs evenly (all above board) and use it as an opportunity to promote and get some gigging practice.

A couple of our songs are here http://soundcloud.com/breakinglight

    Cheers,

    Niall

What type of music would you expect from the other band, or does it make any difference ?

From what you say, the other band would be on for about an hour. Is this correct ?

Would your band be supplying drums, amps etc, with the other band just bringing their instruments ?

I'm open to ideas on music types. I would say the bigger question is whether you are comfortable to play with us on the same night having listened to a couple of tracks.

Probably 45mins to an hour each works well.

We have drums and amps, so happy to share and have these set up. So just imstruments will work.

Depending on the venue, we would proably need to hire a decent PA between us. We have one for rehearsals but we would need something stronger for pubs etc. as its only 200 watts.

Once organised , we could put a post on music production to see if we could get a sound engineer to help set it up.

My band would be interested in principle, but we're having a bit of downtime at the mo. However, this sort of thing is an excellent idea, and perhaps there should be a "let's split the gig" type sticky.

I agree, a great opportunity for new bands to get out there and gig without bearing the cost on their own.

It would be lost in the Band promotion forum.

Mods, any thoughts on a sticky?

    Cheers,

We'd be interested Niall, although like Grolschevik we are coming off a bit of downtime and are also trying to introduce new members so we wouldnt be sure as to when we'd be ready by. It'd be nice to be in the loop though!!
