Spreadbetting CMC, noobie advice wanted?

    I've been playing with the simulator on the CMC website and decided i'm going to have a try at spreadbetting on the markets.

    I'm going to start with a few small trades. Any advice on what to do would be most welcome.

    With the simulator it looks like it could be quite lucratice if you buy and sell at the right time but it all looks a bit to easy, what do I need to be carefull of?

    A few pointers:

    1. Specialise - Stick to what you know.
    2. Decide in advance what your criteria are for investing & wait until the criteria are fulfilled.
    3. Use "what if" analysis to envisage what may happen, and how you will react to it.
    4. Patience
    5. Don't bet on impulse
    6. Ensure you are sufficiently capitalised
    7. Only bet a tiny proportion of your capital on each bet
    8. If you are using stop losses, make sure you are completely happy with the consequences of your stop being hit.
