All last week was playing really well. My last game on prestige 6 was a tdm in Afghan and I went 25-2 with the F2000, won the match with my entire team having a negative kdr.
Then prestiged Saturday and have been awful since. I've had bad runs before but now I'm shocking. Started a Ground War game and had 12 consecutive deaths........12!!!!
Spawn, get shot, respawn explode, respawn explode etc etc.
I'm putting it down to prestiging and the fact I'm using pistols and MLC for the first time but having a serious confidence crises at present.
Definately last time prestiging.

For some strange reason I find I play better on the default classes after I prestige, maybe I'm just more aware I dont have ninja pro or cold blooded and dont go running around like a lunatic, last time I prestiged I went 29-2 on the grenadier class on a TDM on salvage.

IMO, stop playing GW. Just for a bit, and so back in a few levels.
Next, ditch the witch class. If you want to get you confidence back, you will need to play the game with a gun like it was intended.

Hop into FreeForAll and just play. Ignore booosters, the leader board, your K/D and just have fun. You gain experience, loads of kills to up your weapons and you are not letting any team down.
Alternately, if you are uncomfortable with those low level weapons, use a class with Mar&Light, throw the blast shield on and just go nuts capturing points in Domination. You will level up quickly and get back to your old self in no time.

Yeah I'm the same as Krudler, weirdly when I prestige I do much better in the first 20 odd levels and then start running around like an eejit and getting more deaths.

Defo stay away from GW for a bit as was said above. I generally stay away from it altogether unless I'm on a roll and want to get crazy amounts of kills :pac:

Well I get this all the time I go from winning matches to being the worst player in the space of about 10 minutes it's frustrating as I never seem to be consistant unless I'm being consistently crap!

I'm not mad about the default classes, but every time I prestige I remember how good the M4 and Famas are. Plus you get the UMP straight away, and the spas. 4 of the best guns right from the off. Plus running the 3-4-5 killstreaks means you can enjoy the game a bit more, just looking for kills rather than worrying about building a killstreak, which MW2 is all about when you break it down.

I agree with the other posters Ground War is a real bad idea when you suck. When it all comes together though you get some great scores.

The 3-4-5 killstreak is nice for a change but why when I drop a CP late or get killed is it always an AC130 or Pavelow?

Should do rather well as a default class. Play a bit more defensively than the usual rushing default class.

The only thing I'd miss at the beginning would be ninja and cold-blooded. Try and play with people you know, and who you can rely on to shoot down air support?

Sometimes your brain just doesn't talk to your fingers very well. Last night I had a 7 0 23 game. Followed straight away by a 36 3 5. The first one was Carnival (I only got the new maps last week).

Then today I got my first Nuke! Ever. Didn't feel as cool as I thought it would.
