Trust me, you're gonna do a lot better with the books than without them. I didn't get Friel's book until April and it was a major mistake. Its concise and to the point. Just remember everything you buy, you'll be able to sell on. The Law Soc will be arranging a certain amount of book selling this semester so get in touch with them. Also the SU run a second hand book service

Type ULSU bookshop into google and follow the link. You'll likely find a good few law books for cheaper than new there.

I have a few law books from the last few years too I'd be willing to part with for the right price - PM if your interested.

    Sceptre/Peteee,

Maybe a sticky for this type of thing may be of use? A book swap/sell thread could be beneficial to boards.ie UL-ians; students get books for cheaper and students selling get to rid the shelves of those dust gatherers!

For your first semester of Criminal Law I would not recommend you buy Criminal Liability by McAuley and Cutcheon. It's not very user-friendly for someone coming straight from 6th year into college. Maybe others are different but I was lost with it! Instead I'd highly recommend An Introduction to Irish Criminal Law by Conor Hanely. It is much more user friendly! If you need anymore information than is in that book, then you could consult other books, but I found it a great help.

For Contract there really only is one book and that is Ray Friels.

I have just transferred to Law & Accounting but I have no ideas what the books I need for the law modules are. Anybody know what I need?
I know I need to get the Irish Legal System book but would the 4th edition suffice or do I really need the 5th edition?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks.
