    Found this horrible little thing crawling out of my toilet. Flushed it down but two came back. Its like a brown slug with a tail.

    I think they're syrphidae larvae. Look it up on google images. They live in stagnant water so once the toilet isn't used for a while they're happy to live there. Try flushing that toilet more.

    Looks like a rat tailed maggot. true-or-false is right that these usually live in stagnant water. Do you perhaps have a septic tank?

    No don't have a septic tank but the toilet has been slow draining for months now. Took the toilet off for a look today and found a four foot blockage in the soil pipe :eek:
