Conor won it with 582, Sandy Wilson came second with 580 and Tony Cogan came third with 577. Nice day for it.

He was carrying an injury sustained in the course of digging duty at home :D.

    Badly blistered hand

I was there, it was difficult enough because a lot of the time the targets were in shadow and the rest of the range in bright sunlight.

I was really just testing the rifle after my bit of dremmel work on the foreend, it worked fine btw, but I was shooting in 'Bisley mode' (12 minutes a detail) so it was a bit scattery at first, but got better at the end.

Don't know what I scored, but I enjoyed having a rifle that wasn't doing strange things on me. ;)

I think it was somewhere in the 550s, so not too bad.

FLOYDSTER, I've my forward hand wrecked up from digging, so I'm going to see how I get on this week as I've two matches next weekend, 3P and prone. It split open again yesterday morning, so I put the rifle away and didn't shoot.

That's reasonable enough considering I wasn't really taking my time, I figured I was over twenty off on the first card, so something similar on the last two combined isn't too bad. Happy with that tbh :)

Germolene ointment under a band aid or similar over a couple of days works wonders.

Aye, should get better from here out. Nationals are coming up, too.

Thanks, might try that. It's feeling less tense today and doesn't seem to be splitting as it was yesterday, so might just leave it exposed to the air until later and see how I get on. Hopefully be good for both shoots next week.

Well done Conor!!, Dave I like the digging story but wearing Boxing gloves in bed may cause you less pain!!:D

Weh weh weh, smartarse. :p Coming down for the prone match? Surely an indoor prone match in Rathdrum is perfect training for CG. ;)

Was there a good turn-out for the shoot?

Well done all (and particularly Conor of course :D).
Pity wasn't able to make it along to DRC myself yesterday (other shooting stuff on that day). So a priority judgement call was required.:o

Vaseline, IWM - that's what you should be using.....Reduces friction, it's great stuff altogether. Either that or a drop of two of moly!;):D Best of luck with the 3P next Saturday though (hope the hand heals up in time).

Hope to see youse all at Rathdrum for the 25m prone shoot next Sunday - all going well and ammo supplies allowing.

Nineteen, which was pretty nice to see. I'm going to give the 3P a go at this rate, see how that feels before I tackle the prone. I figure I should definitely be good for twenty shots prone and kneeling anyway by next saturday. Probably fine for sunday too.

Floydster was one of the first to book in!

I think he's going to try and break his own record :D

Just booked for saturday and sunday. Will see how things are after saturday. Need to do some emergency standing and kneeling training now. Been a while since I did any.
