The scary thing is I saw his age and thought to myself he lived to be pretty old for a wrestler.

There's a blast from the past. I was expecting him to be included in the Monday Night RAW box set but he's not. The mortality rate of wrestlers really is just dire isn't it? It feels like we're averaging a few deaths a month at this stage :(

God, I remember almost all of the incarnations that Shaw wrestled under over the years and while he was always pencilled in with goofy gimmicks, he was one hell of a wrestler and one hell of a man to get behind whatever he was working. In spite of his size he was actually a solid wrestler and never let himself down in the ring; a lot of trainees these days could do worse than to watch some of his in ring work for hints and ideas.

    Rest in Peace, Mike.
