best ploughing tractor

    anybody got any ideas views on the best tractor 70-100 hp and plough combinations..have a 2 furrow kneverland plough and no tractor as off today.sold it as was too big of an ornament to trying to keep in shed for the winter....plough might go on done deal too so could be starting from scratch in spring...outfit is only an expensive hobby,turning few small bits for neighbours and friends....any views or advice appreciated....thanks all

    massey 3000 series have the best linkage for the job i would say

    a two furrow could easily be pulled by 35 horsepower. But if you want something 70-100 hp, I would recommend a case-ih.

    I assume you got rid of the other tractor because it was too big. The older case tractors were great in this regard, really powerful for their size, really easy on juice and really reliable. A 685 or 785 would be more than enough for you. You don't say how much you have to spend, but you should pick up a good 785 for around 4,500 - 6,000, depending on condition. XL cabs are good on them, but if storage is an issue, the L cab would make it really tidy and small. Also, the L cab model is closer to the ground, so if ploughing, it's an easy cab to get in and out of.
