    I am a 4th year comp sci student and none of the practicals or tutorials begin until the second week usually.

    Some of the first year practicals will be running next week, just so that we can set your computer up for the following weeks.

    Does this go for 2nd Year modules as well, I wonder. I'm assuming for the moment that they're off.

    I don't know as I'm not demo'ing for any 2nd year modules. But general rule, if the practical scheduled is on before your first lecture in it, then it's probably not on, if lecture is first you'll be told if you need to attend.
