The G&G will perform better, no question. The Ares suffers from limited parts availability.

What you could do, if you dearly wanted the heavy SCAR instead of the light one, is wait. G&G have a heavy SCAR on the way very soon.

Another option is the VFC, which is also fantastic, and can be gotten with the EGLM and in both light, and heavy, versions already.

thanks for putting this thread up. im torn between the vfc scar and the g&g think im going to hold out for the g&g scar h as im a g&g whore hahaha.

its just the one aeg though i have no idea about bar how it looks.
if you do buy one pleasde review it here so i can have a look.

so far im drawn towards the scar-L, purely because i already have lots of tan mids.

but if i got a release date for the g&g - H, i could wait.

I can't honestly recall, but it is soon.

To be fair, there isn't a damn bit of difference between the H and the L, apart from the looks. If you have a bunch of mids already, I'd say go with the L. It's a little more common, but it'll save you money. Mids for the H will be pricey, if the VFC version is anything to go by.

im using the VFC scar and havnt had a single problem with it yet. it handles 11.1 lipo batteries straight out of the stock and the EGLM is available seperate and in the box. can also be converted to the CQB version as the barrel seperates and the middle removes shortening it, mine even had a 2nd inner barrell for the shortened version

Will the price of the light scars go down when the heavy version comes out by any chance?

In what way does it perform better? Just curious as I might be tempted to get one as well. And I'm guessing neither of them come with a battery so what would be a good battery to get?

Very unlikely. The heavy is just another variant of Scar. In airsoft terms, it's all cosmetic really.

Incidentally, +1 on the VFC Scar; have no plans to ditch mine whatsoever.
