I'm a Doc Martens addict. Hence the username.

So, I've found the *perfect* pair of shoes to get married in.

Now, I appreciate that these aren't everyone's idea of the perfect wedding shoe, but if I'm going to be in a white dress, this is going to be the only thing I can see myself wearing. For info, they're mid-calf height.

The question is, what style of dress would best show them off? I was thinking of getting a second-hand/cheap dress and getting it altered, possibly adding some roses on it. But I figured I would see if anyone here had any ideas.

    Thanks :)

they are fab- they aren't my style but if they are yours they are very funky
and would be very comfortable compared to heels

i'm not even wearing a dress for my wedding so not sure i can advise re dresses but what comes to mind is to picture what you would do if they were black and imagine what you would wear to show them off, then find something in white like that- ie. calf length perhaps or long with slit?
my friend has gorgeous bling shoes under her dress and even though it was long she got to show them off when going to the altar and times like that and they did look fab, so you could pick a long dress as you say with rose detail and just lift it up a bit to walk...

i hope you have already bought them cause they are fantastic

best of luck with the dress shopping

Very very cool. I couldnt recommend a particular style of dress to be honest but the only thing that springs to mind is the November Rain video, now obviously not a dress up to your knickers at the front but a dress that would be shorter at the front than at the back...

Anyway why not have it made for you, I have found a lovely girl who is making my daughters communion dress from my wedding dress and if you are interested in speaking to her here is her website and she is very affordable, she will most likely tell you that the cost hugely depends on the material chosen. She is even going to the lengths of taking beads off the top of my dress and then putting them onto the belt of the communion dress by hand.

On the other hand if you were still interested in the more traditional wedding dress that is cool but be sure to get some funky shots to show off the boots. I absolutely love rock the frock photo shoots and I would more often than not tell the brides to wear some sort of boot, be it docs or new rocks and ensure there are some funky shots to show them off.

Two great minds Rachel!, first thing i thought of was the november rain video. That dress as you said not as short and those boots would make for some really cool pix! I agree they would be perfect for a rock the frock shoot, class.

your post reminded me of that movie... It's hundreds of years old but still, suits you!! The boots are cool by the way!

If you google Brides in boots you get so many options! They show everything from mini, to mid, to full length! Have a looksie on OBB too, lots of brides there in boots! If I was wearing boots, I go with something to about my knee, if you go with full length you'll have to pull the dress up an down to show them off like how you want. The pics will be awesome in those... :)

    Very nice!

I would go with a long dress tbh. I think short might be a bit ott tbh.

I think somthing knee length and simple would be best. You want to show those babies off, but still keep it quite flirty and sweet. A long dress would just look so mismatched and terrible IMO. Like birkenstock sandels with a business suit. Maybe something like this. ;)

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

I think I'm going to have to take the boots around a few dress shops to get an idea of what looks best.
