Not sure if many of you already listen to this or not, but on a Sunday evening from 6-8pm Stuart Maconie presents a show called The Freak Zone on BBC 6music. The show is fantastic - in the last 15 minutes I've heard Pierre Boulez arranging Frank Zappa's music for orchestra, and right now I'm listening to a rather beautiful Johnny Greenwood (of Radiohead fame) composition inspired by radio static.

I seriously recommend it for anyone with a silent sonic landscape in need of filling on a Sunday evening! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tqjr6

Has anyone else got any good radio/podcast recommendations?

Nova on Lyric FM on Sunday nights is well worth listening to.

Actually I listened to that once by chance and was amazed. Forgot about that actually!

    Is it always very proggy?

They have a thing for prog if my memory serves me correctly. The show I mentioned earlier, Nova, is more experimental/electronic/modern composition based if that floats your boat.

Yep, I know it. It's a good one.

Sometimes he might do a show that gets proggy, but in general I've found it to be very unpredictable - which I like! And he introduced me to Jan Jelinek, which was nice :)
