We adopted an 8 week old puppy this weekend, and just wondering if anyone on east side of city (ballybane/briarhill/roscam) could recommend a good vet in the area? Need to get her vaccinated etc

    thanks,
    lampsie

I bring my dog to Glenina Veterinary Clinic but I see there is one open in Briar Hill Business Park on the opposite side of the road to the Clayton

Avoid Briarhill Vets. VERY expensive and i wasnt impressed at all . Fancy interior is not everything.
(i asked for advice on dogs diet and they have send me link to the book on amazon- lol, also when my dog (puppy that time) didnt like ears cleaning i was told this is not how he should be behaving- it was his second visit and he was like 12 weeks old! ridiculous)
She should know how to handle the dog, help me and show how to do it!

Glenina Veterinary Clinic is fine. Not fancy, but i guess dogs dont care! :)

As stated Glenina Veterinary Clinic is grand - but we normally use the veterinary clinic in Oranmore (Oran Veterinary Clinic http://www.oranvets.com/) ... I think they collaborate together with Glenina, but they are really good and it a lot easier to get to from where we live (Roscam - just a few minutes down the dual carriagewauy :D).
Just my 2 cents worth ...

    +1 for Glenina.

Went to them for 15 years, always professional, good advice.

Very helpful during a traumatic time when my Sammy had to be put to sleep.

Glenina or Oran clinic are same management i wouldnt trust any other vet. Alot are money scoungers, glenina arent. Theyre very reasonable and very good!

I go to Glenina - they've been very helpful and I've had major treatments for both my dog and my cat done there.

I've heard really good things about the Briarhill vets (in fact Maja is the first person to say a wrong word against them that I know of and she hates everything lol) so if Glenina hadn't saved the lives of my animals last year without bankrupting me I might consider trying them out - but as it is I am happy at Glenina so I'll stick with them :)

I use Briarhill Vets, find them good. They done a good job clearing up my dogs very bad skin infection. They arent that expensive very similiar to the vet I use in Castlebar. Both very nice women.

There must be something seriously wrong with you if you say something like that about somebody you never met... how old are you? 12?
My opinion was based on my experience with that place only and if i would hate everything i would't say i liked Glenina. Stop saying nonsens so...

Maja i think Xiney was only having a lil light hearted sense of humour and i wouldnt take offence to it.

Doesnt matter, i am not interested in her sense of humour and i think it was just nasty remark -thats it.
Yes, there is many things i dislike unfortunately, but not that many i hate, so go to judge people you know Xiney!

all I'm saying is, I take negative words from negative people in a different light to people who have a more measured approach.

I would hate for anyone who might be a future client of the Briarhill vets to take your comment seriously and decide against it, when all you ever do is complain about things.

    Ok maybe not.:(

I go to Glenina with my dogs (my own and various foster dogs) and find them very nice to deal with and can't fault them on anything they've ever done.

-and why would someone not take my comment seriously? This was my experience and i am not some crazy elderly lady who hates everything and this is what you are saying about me.
Its ridiculous when veterinary dr is telling you your puppy is not behaving properly and when you ask for advice is telling you to buy a book!
I do complain about things which are bothering me -like dumping the dog for example and saying its "all i ever do" is just stupid and far from truth.
