    There is still one tiny village where the Pontiff could be sure of a welcome - Kilfenora in County Clare.
    The Father Ted sitcom was filmed in the village but it has a much greater claim to ecclesiastical fame.

    A century ago, Rome resolved an unholy row in Ireland by declaring that whoever was Pope would also be Bishop of Kilfenora.

    I did.

    I remember when Bishop Desmond Tutu was giving a sermon and he tried to sing. F*ck me but they guy can't sing. Myself and my sister had to leave we were laughing so much.
