McAfee anti virus

    Hi

I submitted the following on another thread ( tech support) but got no replies in a week, so am trying here - hope it's not upsetting the mods, but I feel it IS a cunsumer issue!

    Hi

My McAfee was automatically renewed by McAfee. However, like Sean above, I find the cost too expensive, especially when one can buy a new CD for about €40 in a shop. McAfee charged me £54.99, & my CC was debited €68.

I went and dumped McAfee and installed Microsoft anti-virus which is working excellently, and my pc is also faster.

My question is this: On my renewal email from McAfee, I got the following - P.S. If for some reason you wish to cancel your subscription, McAfee can provide a full refund only if cancellation is within 60 days of this renewal notice.

My problem is this: I cannot find the link where I can claim back my money. I have replied to the 'Automatic Renewal Notification' email, but am not sure they got it (I haven't heard anything back yet).

Would anyone please know the link or procedure for reclaiming back the subscription?

    Any assistance much appreciated.

I wonder if there is anyone here who can help me? Or direct me to the correct link for my issue?

PS:I also have not heard back from McAfee, so assume they dont respond to the reply of their renewal notice?

    Thanks again.

Take it up with your credit card issuer. If McAfee charged your card without you explicitly authorising it then they will refund you and charge McAfee. As you were charged in GBP then the transaction presumably originated in the UK. When you originally purchased McAfee did you agree to an ongoing charge or do McAfee take it upon themselves to retain your credit card details and debit you unless you cancel.

Sorry, I feel your pain but this isnt a security issue. Its a consumer issue and iirc you already had it posted here a while ago on a different thread (I could be wrong).

    Closing this thread.
