    Hi

I would like to receive German, British and Irish TV programmes with a single satellite dish. I found the Wave Frontier T90 that can do that. But this is as far as I got...

    I don't know:
    • Do I need multiple receivers for receiving UK and German channels?
    • If I want to watch different channels in different rooms do I need special LNBs or other hardware?
    • What should my shopping list look like? What are the accessories I need to implement this successfully?
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Cheers

    M

Up to four rooms or two rooms with PVRs you need Quad.

For more than that you are better with Quattro and Multiswitch.

You don't need a Wavefrontier. It's for wide arc reception. An 80cm or 90cm Triax with Traix multiLNB will work.

Dish on the right has 4 x Quattro driving a 16 way multiswitch giving up to 8 rooms with PVR or 16 rooms non-PVR or a mix (Proper recorders, PVRs need two feeds).
It has 28E (UK TV), 19E (German mostly), 13E (Some Germa, and many other). It Will have 9E for Free To Air Irish TV (Ka band LNBF). It has had 23.5E German also.

I was testing two way internet on 23.5E so had temporarily removed a Quattro and had the two way unit on the arm.

Alternatively you can use Quad LNB and a 4 x Diseqc switches to have 4 rooms (without PVR).

There is no Free Irish TV till at least next Feb/May. You need a Sky digibox and subscription or a TV aerial for now. A Sky Digibox is useless for German TV.

So if you use an Aerial for Irish TV now, later you can add it on Satellite.

You need as minimum an HD DVB-S2 satellite receiver. A Freesat model is best for UK TV and some can do Diseqc or Multiswitch for German TV. HDTV set is not needed.

If you are having two rooms and no recording, or recording only one room then QUAD LNBs (minimum 2 1 for 28E and 1 for 19E) and 2 or 3 4 way Diseqc switches (spare port for irish Satellite).

If you might have more than one PVR or PVR and more than 3 rooms then a Multiswitch + Quattros is better.

I'd only go for Wavefrontier if you wanted 5W French, 1W Scandinavia, 19E German and 28E UK or similar. It's for 45 degree arc. A regular Triax 90cm dish with triax bar will do 20 degree arc.

The one in picture might be 90/95 cm triax. I'm not sure it, was a present for SES-Astra for testing Casablanca.
