    Hey

I was just wondering is there a special way of configuring HDMI output from a laptop and a pc?

I got myself a hdmi cable and even though i managed to configure the telly to my best ability the picture is still not as crip and clear through RGB or DVI cable. Ive tried this on a few TV's with HDMI and i can never get decent quality picture. Am i missing out on something?

Even though colors are better through HDMI on the telly it just seems unfocused and bad quality video. Ive tested the same cable from a dvd to tv and it works perfect.

Could it be that it's a bad quality video that you are trying to play back or is it fine on the laptop screen?
Also is the laptop changing it's resolution to match the tv?

it scans perfect on the laptop screen and on the telly through RGB or DVI but **** through HDMI.

yes it brings it up to the right resolution but the image isn't as good as on the DVI or RGB. Its okish if your watching a movie but if your trying to read a webpage it sucks

Most websites are designed for 1024x768,say you are in 1080 resolution, if the film is in say 720 format it will look mediocre at 1080 resolution.
i prefer to view websites in 1024x768 resolution.I Think most hd tvs are designed for blue ray hd or console ,360 ,ps3 display thru the hdmi port, ie they are not designed for optimum pc web browsing .

yeah but even looking through 1080p on dvi or rgp the websites and the movies are grand cause i have a full hd display but it still doesn't go right :S

COULD you not just use DVI FOR MOVIES,web browsing ,just use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm,or rca in male for the audio, cost 3 euro.HDMI IS Designed for 720p, 1080p, so its not designed for text, web browsing, or for movies, set pc res to 720x576= dvd official resolution.
set pc refresh rate to 60mhz max, Maybe your refresh rate is too high, most hdtvs use 60mhz max when a pc is connected.
