    I have some lupin, poppy and echinacea plants which I,ve grown from seed.
    Is it OK to keep them in their pots over the winter as my soil is heavy clay in which I lost a lot of plants last winter?

    Yes , just make sure they never get too over wet, and Protect from heavy frost's
