Aldi receiver card slot?

In spite of being told otherwise, the mother-in-law recently bought the cheap and nasty Aldi sat system a few weeks ago, which i installed handy enough. However, it was only a few days later (and after throwing out the paperwork/instructons) that i noticed a card slot in the receiver. Is there anything (legal) useful this…

There may be a pay package someplace else. You need a bigger dish pointed somewhere else.
Foreign (as in Non-Sky, which is Foreign really) Pay-TV advice here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=622
There are some legitimate subscriptions that will work here. But the viewing card may not work in the Aldi box. A Sky card doesn't.
