So if you were still 17 during Fresher's Week, what is there to do?

And I know someone asked this in the other post but no one answered it properly.

Cause I'm only 17 (til the week after flipping' freshers week) is there a point in me signing up for the Ents? Like I know I could try to slip in, but realistically? Or is it all cool once you have paid 4 em?

    Thanks

[Ps. Sorry, I don't mean to Jack your thread dude]

The majority of the posters here, unless freshers won't know. We don't get the information about what's on posted to us.

You would still be ID'd at the relevant clubs.

Fire off an email to one of the many members of the SU and ask. By the sound of the junk we got in the post they're dying to help out.

This was answered. You will need ID to go out-the bouncers don't care. I'll find the post after this to prove it to you.
But sign up for ents, you get a kickass goody bag(think it was the best one last year) and it's free, you usually just buy the tickets in college on the day at the stand, so you can decide if you want to chance it or not.

    EDIT:

Go on pub crawls and find someone who's over 18 and who looks like you and become their friend and go where they go.

EXACTLY unless you look like you've yet to hit puberty they will serve you I've never seen anyone id'd there.

I know form last year when you see all the freshers week stuff you think unless you go to it all your going to be a big billy no mate for all of college. Your not.

To be honest unless your in a course with ten people for about the first two months you'll still be trying to remember peoples names and by the end of the year you'll still be making new friendships.

Remember you don't necessarily have to become best mates with the first person you meet they could well turn out to be an Axe wielding murderer.

As regards just having fun in freshers week without id, well thats not hard at all. As someone else said above we dont get the freshers week pack but last year there were savage speakers/comedy debates a Damian Rice gig and loads of other stuff like that required no id.

Dont be stressing about I.D you'll still have a great week just find out whats on.

    Just go to the Pav!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 829 ✭✭✭zam

I got ID'd in the Pav.. But I do look kinda young.

You won't get ID'd going into the Pav (which a lot of pubs do now) so go in, and get someone else to go to the bar and buy you drinks!

Don't worry about missing Ents Freshers events anyway. They're awful.

I thought the traffic light ball last year was good. Didn't go to any of the others.

Each to their own I suppose, but the Traffic Light Ball, the Halls Ball etc last year were some of the worst clubnights I've ever been to.
