Blacklighting

    Ok Mod's feel free to close this thread if you think its posted in the wrong place.

    Basically, need blacklighting/UV lights for a gig me and a few mates are doing in October.

    Anybody have them for sale or know where I could get them? Even second hand? As cheap as possible please!

    EDIT: Also smoke machines, strobe lights, lasers etc etc!

    Plenty places rent them. I'd say you're probably going to be looking for a UV ''Cannon'' (basically a par can) plus one of the Martin Atomix Strobes + similar fogger/mister. T SLC on Brunswick place sell and rent, thomann are cheaper but online and on the cheaper end of the scale you have SoundHire in Ranelagh near the LUAS station to rent from.

    Read up about DMX and how to actually control these

    Thanks for the info! Have you any contact info or number for those places you mentioned above? Are they expensive to rent? Not from Dublin myself so wouldn't be familiar with those places but can get my sister to check them out for me.

    Not terribly expensive. Be aware that the SLC stuff is mostly wired for single phase 16amp plugs, and I presume you'll be using the bogstandard 3 pin house plugs depending on your venue.

    Smoke machines and stuff from soundhire are dirt cheap. I think like 15-20 a day or less. They've moving heads as well, but I'd probably stay away from lasers and the like as they get very expensive. Is it a venue in Dublin you're running it in or where?
