    I've been playing golf for years, but never had a handicap. Up until now it was usually just me and a mate heading out for 9 or 13 holes every couple of weeks. I work horrendous hours and all weekend, so never really got the opportunity to play in comps.
    This year i've made time and completed 8 rounds of 18 holes in the last 2 months (huge amount for me). I want to put cards in for handicap now, but the last 3 rounds weren't great and i'd prefer my handicap to be as accurate as possible.
    I play on a par 72 course and i think the SSS index for the white tees is 71. My last 8 rounds were;
    90*
    90*
    89*
    84
    82
    84
    95
    84
    *last 3 rounds

    Should i put the scorecards in for the last 3 rounds, or should i put all 8 scorecards in, or should i put in my 3 lowest?
    I might not get many 18 hole rounds played from now on, so i'd really like a handicap sorted.

    Up to you. Your handicap will be taken from the lowest of your 3 scores. Most people hand in their last 3 rounds.

    Well your handicap is ment to be an indication of your best playing ability, not an average or your worst. I would pick your best 3 cards and then you can sleep at night when you win your next comp knowing you have genuinely improved your game through working on it!

    You've obviously got more than a fair bit of ability based on your scores. If it were me I would put in the 3 best cards - I would be gunning to try to get the lowest handicap possible issued and then your challenge would be to play to it.

    If it were me, I would be slow to give you more than 10 or 11 based on those scores... :D
