I have my heart set on doing the tran Siberian and the trans Mongolian sometime next year, (not one after the other, travelling around in between!) I've been looking up prices, routes etc but the thing is I'm considering going alone.

Alot of people said that it would not be a safe trip for a girl (22) to do by herself. I'm friendly, would like to have a bit of fun going out seeing how people live and socialise etc.

I was wondering if anyone has used any travel buddy websites? Are they of any use? Have you met any of these people? Or would I be better off trying to make friends on the train while travelling?

If anyone has done the trans Siberian or any of the other routes (maybe Japan) if anyone could give me some info it would be greatly appreciated! I'm only dying to do it! :)

    Cheers! :)

The TravBuddy Website is very good but not for Trans/Mong trips unfortunately - from my own exp anyway - The site is good for places like SE Asia.

In saying that you've nothing to lose registering - You'll be asked to put in your destination and rough dates so there's always the chance someone will be doing similar and spot it.
