What's a full service? Normally for €90 you'd only get oil and filter. Maybe a few checks.

Parts alone would nearly cost that much. Are you sure you don't know them?

Don't be facetious, it's good practice to put copper grease on the back of break pads.

I got a service kit from work for my mates hyundai coupe, oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs and an engine flush. €46. i reckon you should change where you shop for parts:p

Knock out a few of them quick services a day and ya will make a nice few quid and have lots of happy customers

I go to top part. Cheap oil there is about €23 for 5 litres, they can be pricey enough for a motor factors I suppose.

3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 year old cars in my family and all have suffered from brake squeal cured by using a dab of copper grease on the back of the pads where they're in contact with the piston.

Is that the type of squeal that disappears when you touch slightly on the brakes, or start to turn a slight bend?

It's squealing when you lightly use the brakes, cured every single time by using copper grease as the mechanic who put them on didn't bother.

Plug, are you trying to put your foot in your mouth?

Ah, right. Mine squeal sometimes when driving, but the squeal goes away if I touch the brakes, or turn the steering wheel slightly. Must be something slightly different.

Always thought it sounded like was something was dry, needed a bit of lubrication.

On older makes of cars you would be correct in order to reduce brake squeal until such time the brakes have time to bed in.

However some replacement brake pads have special type of adhesive backing material which bonds to the outside caliper from the heat dissipated from the friction of the braking process.

There is a big difference between copper grease and ordinary grease!

That's true, haven't come across any of the self bonding ones as of yet though!
