I go to a place for free internet and there is a sign outside saying "No Loitering at entrance", in other words no one is supposed to be standing there. But there are a punch of people that always block the door when they get their fag break.

I can see the doorway from the internet room, and they constantly block it whenever they are left have a fag, people have to ask them to get out of the way. Not only that, but the pavement outside is full with cigarettes when they are finished. Now there are about 10 of them and 9 of the smoke. That leaves a mess.

    Why, why, why?

There are signs everywhere these days - so many in fact, that they are mostly meaningless. Even more meaningless are the ones that can't be policed, such as "no loitering".

Same thing happens outside the front door of many hospitals

Sheeeez OP, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Some people don't deserve the stuff that befalls them and I can only imagine how heartbroken you must be feeling at present. If it's any help to you, I am sure there are others who have been through similarly trying experiences and who might be able to lend a shoulder to cry on, a kind word or just an ear to listen.

Life has a way of dealing us these bum hands and sometimes it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel but just try to remember that tomorrow is a new day and as each new dawn comes, some of the pain in your soul will be washed away.

I hop things get better soon

    All our love,

    The kids from AH.

So I was standing outside some internet place today having a fag and there's this guy looking at me and me mates smoking, first I thought he must be a benny but his face got more and more redder the more drags we took of our ciggy. In the end his face was positively beetroot. Strange, strange guy.....but we all had a laugh at him!

To piss off uptight people such as yourself? I bet you're one of those types that deliberately cough loudly whenever there's a smoker present.

I am not used to smoke, so I choke automatically if I inhale enough. I don't do it deliberately though.

I think they're just doing it to annoy YOU. No-one else, just you. So you should go about fixing things. Become a member of parliament so you can go about making a law which states that 'People who don't read signs should be rounded up and put out of my sight'.

Then the world will be right.

It almost worked for Hitler, but I don't think he had the foresight to realise that imposing your ideals on everyone else are going to ruffle a few feathers. Lightweight tbh.

This and also general ignorance such as "no-one else is in the disability parking spot, sure I'll only be a few minutes, ..., ..."

An interesting observation if that someone else starts then everyone else will go along, it's called shared responsibility "everyone else was doing it" bah bah bah

They do it because 50% of people are arseholes and the other 50% are too stupid to notice the signs/rules.

    Fair enough.

But seriously man, if this is the most annoying thing that happens to you on a daily basis then you've got it better than most it seems.

I'm a smoker but I agree people should have a bit more consideration for others.
I personally do my best to not spark up around non smokers because it's basic manners, but the fact remains that people in general can and will congregate in doorways (because the law forced them to) and they will drop their cig butts on the ground.
Best ye can do is just smile, say "excuse me folks" and if they have any kind of manners they will promptly move the fuk out of your way.
    Easy peasy :)

    It's a lot worse on the roads:eek:

Perhaps, like the place I work, such signs are ignored because of the expectation that smokers should trudge across the carpark in the rain to stand next to a waterlogged ashtray surrounded by rat traps next to the bins?
I mean, I'm no Rosa Parks, but that's just taking to piss, and if signpost! nazi's like you insist on treating smokers like a subspecies then what do you expect?

....and then there's ignorance of the meaning of the word ignorance.

    That really bothers me.
