Is there a scope with the 10/22?

    Hi,

unfortunately no scope with 10/22 - I've taken if off to put on a BA rifle that I am taking home with me

    Clarify a few items:

    Glock has tritium sights
L1A1 (really P1ssed to be selling this).. 7.62 stamped on it, but fires .308 - one 5 round mag and 3 x 20 round mags

I'd buy the Tritium sights and give you my old ones in exchange of my glock 22

If i had extra money i'd love the FN for the craic :D

    Hi,

Many thanks for the offer, but I'd prefer to let it go 'as is'.
FN is great fun, deadly accurate, but expensive to feed! (also took me a long time to find a dealer who didn't charge and arm and a leg for one)

Well if you want to "donate it" to me to mind until you are back in Ireland ;)

Ruger & Glock now Sold - only L1A1 remaining. I'll include a carry case to make a quick sale.

Pictures taken of L1A1. I spoke to the dealer holding it today and he says he can convert it to straight pull if required.

    Hi Kiwi 45,

Could you tell me if you got your firearms licence for this gun as restricted or non-restricted :confused::confused::confused:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13 kiwi45

    Hi,

Restricted firearm. Funnyily enough, relinquishing a F/B pistol and getting a license for a .308 is deemed lesser of two evils - go figure!

This rifle can be made straight pull - not sure if that makes it restricted or unrestricted (it'll still be military looking!)

I bought an FN L1A1 from a dealer here who had it converted to "straight pull" over in the UK, fabulous gun but the conversion was not successful as once fired the round could not be ejected from the chamber. This was no foult of the dealer here in Dublin as he tried to sort the problem out with much expense to himself, when I applied for a substitution on my license I was told no problem but todate I am still waiting in hope.

Anyway it is a shame to convert these rifles because they are one of the finest battle rifles ever made and still issued to various armies today.

I spoke to someone about getting it converted, and he explained in detail what is required. It's a fairly complex procedure (apparently, just removing the piston & spring and reversing the top stop notch will just result in continuos hard extractions)

Rather not have it converted, but if I can't get it sold by next Wednesday I will get it converted and shipped North

    Thx

Its a common problem with them once converted.

A small workin knowledge of the rifle and it isnt that hard to fix as myself and a dealer found out when i was presented with that problem.

I've fired a straight pull that was converted from an original semi. Only difference (besides the obvious) is the additional recoil from SP (no doubt from nowhere to vent gases or something like that).

I think converting this is possibly the best solution...Would this be treated as a non restricted firearm then?

Ok guys, I've just had a long conversation with the dealer holding the FN who says he is not that happy with getting this converted to straight pull (apparently, SP firearms going to NI or UK must be originally manufactured as SP? - not sure if this is correct, but I am going on his word)

Anyway, Although I can license this in NZ, there is not much opp. to use it where I live. If there is anyone with a .22 pistol / revolver or decent .22 rifle that would be willing to do a part trade, the dealer mentioned he can ship it to NZ to another dealer for me. So if anyone is interested - PM please

    I'll offer 750 Euro - cash waiting.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13 kiwi45

    Hi MMc1,

Could you push it to 850. I'll include:

    1. 15x20 round mags
    2. Original FN L1A1 cleaning kit
    3. Tactical carry bag
    4. Loads of pull throughs etc
    5. Gas adjustment tool
    some other accessories

I'm not complaining about the dealer holding it, but he does not appear to be pushing this sale too much and appears to be a little bit disinterested (he sold two and putchase another gun from me, so not too much to complain about), I just need to convert this into some NZ dollars ASAP.
