A guide to Doctor Who on DVD?

OK, I'm currently working my way through The Beginning box set (I'm about halfway through The Daleks atm) and I want to work my way through some of the classic Doctor Who stuff on DVD, which I have a feeling may be a slippery slope!

The new series is straightforward enough, but does anyone have any recommendations or know of a good guide to what's available on DVD, what serials are available in boxsets, that sort of thing? Also interested in what people regard as must-have DVDs, either for the story itself or the included extras. Thanks in advance for your advice/opinions.

EDIT: Found this, looks to be a decent enough guide. Still after opinions as to what's worth getting though.

Here's a better list, has them in the order they're set as opposed to the order they were released in.

As for stories to watch I'm still new to Classic Who myself, but personally I'd recommend The Seeds of Death, The Mind of Evil (which unfortunately isn't out on DVD yet), The Brain of Morbius, City of Death, The E-Space Trilogy, The Five Doctors and The Trial of a Time Lord.

And I'm eager to see The Key to Time as well

Just to update, I've finished the The Beginning box set, The Keys Of Marinus dropped through the letterbox yesterday and The Aztecs is on order.

    I'm doomed, aren't I? :)

What I'm doing is skipping to whenever a companion starts or leaves so I jumped from The Beginning Boxset to The Dalek Invasion of Earth to The Rescue/Romans, took in some audio soundtracks, and I'm now up to Liz Shaw leaving.

    This too shall pass.

You seem to be determined to do them in transmission order - just be aware that there are plenty of gaps... once you've finished the Aztecs there's Sensorites, Reign of Terror (which has episodes missing) and Planet Of Giants yet to be released. And at the rate you're going it could be years before you get to a Tom Baker story!

I would go straight to Genesis of the Daleks or Robots of Death from his era if you can't wait that long.

I do plan jumping about a bit, but I never really saw any of the first or second doctor's stuff so I wanted to see where it all began really. The Aztecs has arrived but after this I'll probably dip in elsewhere, possibly by buying the first Revisitations boxset when it's released.
