Hey, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some youtube (or whatever) videos of Christian apologists giving talks or involved in debates that you may have come across and thought were particularly good. Cheers.

Hello Strobe, here's a good site I came across yesterday. Haven't had much time to look over it but looks good.

There are a few sites listed in the resources thread. If you want to listen to talks from a scientific perspective then try the Faraday Institute. And this apologetics blog has such staggering amount of links to various resources that I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Individuals I would recommend in no particular order would be Ravi Zacharias, Tom Wright, Os Guinness (you can find loads of his talks on The Veritas Forum), Alistair McGrath, Michael Spenser AKA iMonk (see Coffee Cup Apologetics)... I could go on.

To add to the list, Unbelievable? is an excellent radio programme that airs every Saturday. It normally takes the form of a Christian in debate with a non-Christian (usually atheist/ agnostic) on a particular topic.

I would recommend Youtube-ing and/or Googling the following:

    William Lane Craig

    Gary Habermas

    Craig A Evans

    J.P. Moreland

    John Lennox

    Michael Licona

I used to like keith ward alot back in the day (does anyone here read or listen to anything by him by the way? I've never heard him mentioned by anyone but myself).

Here is one of his videos, about materialism... and it's discontents :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVBDNRw8jRU (I originally watched these on the site of that college, and they may be better there)

Keith ward generally links his reiligious views with rationalism, hence his criticisms of materialism here.

He has many other videos on many other things, I've never read any of his books, but I may buy one he has coming up called "more than matter".

Thanks Fanny, good stuff, am working my way through it. Lots of stuff to work through there though. But I was more asking for certain videos you or anyone else "recommend". I have tried googling for "Christian apologist talks" etc before. It usually gives less than satisfactory results. I wanted specific choices rather than a selection of same. There are literally thousands of videos out there, I have clicked on lots of random ones before. Could you suggest one or two in particular?

In other words.....Could you do the sorting for me please?

If Richard Dawkins was a theist and wore glasses? Really?

Sure! I could recommend a few that I found enlightening. But that, of course, is not to say that they will resonate with you. Many people, for instance, enjoy William Lane Craig. I don't. In large parts it boils down to personal preference.

Anyway, first you would have to tell me what type of stuff you are looking for. There are as many topics covered in apologetics as there are speakers and styles. The quality also varies hugely.

He says that? Or do you think he's similar to Richard Dawkins?

Edit: Just watching some of this now, i think his science based arguments against materialism so far are quite weak. But I'm sure I liked him for a reason :). They're grand I guess, I just don't really like them. Actually I do.

you might find these links interesting. The first is Rosalind Moss, jewish convert to christianity. The second, Scott Hahn and his wife, both excellent apologists
