I can punch you in the head instead if you prefer?

Some really large ones here, offering 100% spoke protection.

I cut one off with a snips recently. I was going to take off the cassette and remove it properly but someone (cough - Raam) said not to bother.

Shame, I would have given you good money for it.

hmmm, thats a bit big for my needs but i suppose I could buy one and cut it down to size. Has anyone got any experience of this? or is it something I should get the LBS to do?

Have to ask, why do you want one?

    To protect my spokes.

Mine was Shimano compatible too. 10 speed only. They're the most valuable ones you know.

Its a pie plate thats compatible with a fixie. I presume these exist cos I was in Berlin and saw a fixie with a pie plate and thought it looked cool. So i want to be able to use the pie plate with my road bike and a fixie. I'm gonna build a fixie. Starting with a good pie plate and building from there.

But what is the purpose of a pie plate on a fixie?

(and "looking cool" doesn't count, for several obvious reasons)

What would a pie plate on a fixed gear bike be protecting the spokes from? Ah, right, it's Friday.

Stops your spoke cards from dropping into the cog?
