Make-up course

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a make-up course that runs for one day or for two days at the weekend (Sat & Sun) as I want to do one, but due to college, I am unable to do a week-long course and am obviously unable to do a course mid-week.

I've seen recommendations for an 'LA Make-up Academy' course, but looking on their website, all their courses are for people who want a career in make-up/week-long courses, which isn't what I want.

    Thanks.

The week long course (MOD 1) is actually pretty basic. Realistically, what can you learn in 2 days? Theres so much in mod 1 - eyeshapes, faceshapes, contouring, evening looks, day look/natural and bridal makeup. It really focuses on the "need to know" and goes into it in depth.
Its available to do part-time, in the evenings.

Is this the course your talking about?

    http://www.lamakeupacademy.com/c-d-become-your-own-makeup-artist-course-Dublin.php

It costs €595, which I cannot afford.

I was expecting to pay around €150-€200 for a course, but not €500+.

Are there any other courses? But for my budget of €200.

    Thanks.

Have a look at irish eyes make up. The director niamh does one on one mini courses on doing your own make up on saturdays but you need to book in advance.its about 100 euro. She is the course director for the portobello institute make up courses and has been in the business for a long time with a lot of brands. It might be what you're looking for? I did a course with her and found her to be really helpful with everything

    Hi Purple Bubble,

Where are you based? I am actually organizing a make-up workshop for next week, would that be interesting for you? PM me if you would like more info :)

There is a college in Mullingar called 'Beauty by Mairin G' and they do one day basic workshops once or twice a month.
