Quick query in relation to wiring up a room .
I have a magic eye cable going from the back of a Sky box up the wall into the attic and into a bedroom.
I want to bring a new cable down from a new dish pointed at 13e but I cant bring it through the side wall near the Sky cable.
I have joined the rf out cable from the Sky box with the new sat cable in the attic using a Sat combiner and split it behind the tv to the Sky box (Ant) and Dreambox (Sat)
It is working but the magic eye isnt powered.
I'm guessing that I wont get this to work as the magic eye is dc powered as is the lnb so I cant send two dc voltages up the one cable ,am I correct ?

Yes, you are correct. Magic eye needs 9v. Sat/ UHF combiners and splitters are passive on the UHF leg .
You could put your 2 dishes into a diseq switch. The sky box does not provide diseq control , but if you set the DB to diseq 2 orB, it will default to pos 1 when the db is powered down.
Only way I can see you could do it without running an extra cable to living room.
Or ditch the magic eye and use a powermid or digidom type wireless IR extender to contol skybox from bedroom.

Thanks Rippy,I'll just have to get the big drill out and drill a bigger hole in the wall and feed the cable down. Its the best option I think.
