During the 1948 Arab-Israeli war 700,000 Christian and Muslim Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their homes and became refugees. There are 5 million uprooted Palestinians today, without the right of return to their homes despite the fact that Ashkenazi Jews (European, with no ties to biblical Israel other than their adoption of the Jewish religion, culture and Hebrew language) do. Hundreds of innocent civilians were massacred and many Palestinian women were raped by the Israelis, serious war crimes. The intention was displace the Palestinians to create a Jewish homeland in their place. That was the Nakba, meaning catastrophe.

The CT is that many Hasbara writers try to diminish or dispute the Nakba, often placing it in quotes because the massacre of Palestians isn't a catastrophe in the supremacist Zionist eyes. They try to make out that the Palestinians left of their own accord, when in reality they were fleeing for the lives.

Secondly, the use of the "nakba" terminology is a step in the direction away from responsibility and toward illusion and blame, twin illnesses which have haunted the Palestinians for decades. To be fair there is nothing sinister in that. In the same way that if the population of Ireland was forced to settle and spread out in Africa for example, after generation upon generation of pro-creating with Africans eventually the Irish "look" (if there is such a thing would be diluted into non-existence.

Where the problem lies with me is if a thousand years down the line these dark-skinned "Irish", Bible in hand want to ethnically cleanse the innocent people living on the "Irish" land because they are not Catholics.

Thanks for the reply, not suggesting it's sinister at all . Odd was what I meant.
From a CT point of view I'd take it as an agenda to push jewish peoples at the lands of Israel.
From my perspective it's an out of place piece on a jigsaw. A square peg in a round hole. But when did this kind of thing start I wonder. I presume the migrration of western jews happened long before the world wars.

Not to detract from the thread content itself but picking up from another point made (and probably going off on a tangent sorry!).
As myths or legends go, isn't there one that exists that Irish people themselves are descendant from Jewish people in that Tea Tephi (spelling probably wrong there) who travelled from what is now Israel with what was the Lia Fail (also known as the Stone of Destiny or the Stone or Scone in Scotland) and that the boat she travelled on crashed in a storm on the Irish coast, saved by some king of Ireland who fell in love with and married her. She became the queen of Ireland and is buried in one of the tombs in Tara, Meath ?

Very very shortened version of the (mythological?) story but there ye go, Irish people have Jewish blood in them too so we can claim Israeli citizenship.

EDIT: While typing this I also searched out on google to see if I could find the correct spelling of Tephi (Teia Tephi as it happens) and came upon this site with a bit more of the whole mythological story... Just to point out that Koestlers theories were discredited by genetic evidence which indicates that the EU Jews did originate from Israel. Their closest cousins are the Palestinians and Kurds.

Taken from wiki, a common ancestry traceable back to ancient Israel. There was some mixing with mediterranean populations, Roman and Greek but not much.
