Am off to Chicago next month. I love my ghd but it wont work over there due to the voltage. As far as I know I can use one over there if the voltage is 180v. My ghd is 230v.

I was thinking of buying a straightner here thats 180v but not as expensive as a ghd. Any suggestions on a good one???

I have gone to walgreens before and bought a cheapish one but it was rubbish.

I had the same issue when I was heading over to New York last year. I actually invested in a new GHD IV. These have been created with a universal voltage thingy majig! They look the same and work the same as the older GHD but of course they now work in the states.

Before I went to New York, I gave my ghd to my friend for the week and took her new ghd with me which was universal voltage. Any ghds bought in the last 3 years or so are universal voltage. Just find a friend with a newish ghd and swap with her for the week:D

    Oh that's a great idea!

I bought my newer GHD here: http://www.hqhair.com/tools-electrical/ghd/iv-styler.
My GHD before that was a million years old.... GHDinosaur! :p
