I happened upon this game on a gaming site recently and was wondering what the good citizens of this forum make of such things.
The Bible Online is a game of Travian type real-time village development. You develop farms and mines, build warehouses, workshops and barracks, and slowly increase your hourly income from a trickle to a steady flow, while protecting yourself from other players. The difference is, the whole thing has a crusty, old testament flavour. You collect shekels, build temples and sacrificial altars, place curses, and the highest level of warrior is an angel.

I'd imagine that content of some games are anathema to some Christians (or other faiths) for example the violence in fps or the content of RPGs (lets not forget the hysteria that followed D&D) and such things fill the void.

Or are people over reacting ?

If God had intended us to sit on our butts playing video games He wouldn't have invented outdoor activities. I jest. ;) I still love the old shoot 'em up games like Space Invaders sorry, Doom and Quake and Vice City :D

I'm more of a fan of games that allow you to pump round after round into your enemy - often in slow motion. I think a game of Tf2 is in order tonight.

Anyway, the game looks wack. I'll stick to the book.
