Do the size of Pearls matter?

Ladies hope you can help me here. The gf's birthday next week and she sent me a pic of a pearl necklace she wanted. I went to a jewellers and asked for this pearl necklace by this designer and went ahead and bought it.

However i've brought it home and realised the pearls on the one i bought are smaller and there is more of them than the one in the pic she sent me. Is this a total disaster. Its the only pearl necklace in the shop by this designer and with the same design. Their receipt says no refunds too only exchanges :eek:

The top one has about 50 pearls...the bottom one about 90

Apparently real pearls come in all different sizes. A necklace - braclet with all perfect matching ones are not real!

You may get away with it, I don't think there's a huge difference but it's hard to see what you mean about the amount of pearls because the second image doesn't really show the entire necklace.

Also if she asked for a pearl necklace I doubt she meant a pearl necklace with a charm hanging off it.. Sorry.

I would think that it's the clasp being shown the second picture, and would be worn to the back. Most strings of pearls have a fancy clasp.

OP I don't think there's much of a difference, unless she really hated it. You could always bring it back and try get the shop to order you in the one you want. They should be willing to satisfy a customer spending a good amount of money.

But the first link with the charm is the exact one she asked for. The one i got has the exact same charm thing but just smaller pearls.

I know next to nothing about jewellery, but are they not the same necklace?
They both have the heart charm thing, and they're both by John Rocha, so I'm going to hazard a guess that while the quantity of actual pearls may be different, they're near enough the same necklace. The second pic just seems to focus on the clasp and heart, whereas the first pic is of the whole necklace.

I reckon its the clasp myself and is worn to the back alright. Sure i'll chance it and keep the receipt in case she wants to get the other one.

Oh they are grand - pretty much the exact same necklace then. Don't worry about it.

Same necklace but the 1st one has bigger pearls and less of them. The second pic just doesn't show the amount of pearls.

From looking at the above pictures, I would say there's a minimal difference between the two. If I was your girlfriend I'd be more than happy with the necklace you got!

However, as metioned above, if your OH isn't happy with them, you could always bring them back to the shop and ask if you could exchange them for the set she asked for.

My boyfriend bought me that necklace for my birthday and I LOVE IT! The pearls are quite small on it but it's a really beautiful piece. I often wear the clasp at the front and I've gotten lots of comments about how pretty the heart is.

Either way I think both necklaces are absolutely amazing. I wish my boyfriend would give me a pearl necklace for my birthday... wait let me rephrase that... I wish he would BUY me a pearl necklace for my birthday!
