    As the title says, I'm trying to figure out what twitter is all about and how it works with terms like following, followe, retweet, etc explained.

    Put very simply:

    You have your Twitter account, let's say your nickname is "Palm".

    You follow people and people follow you
    --> You follow people: Every tweet (a single message on Twitter) tweeted by the people you follow - will show up in your twitterfeed

    --> people who follow you, will see every message you put on Twitter.

    Retweets are messages written by a person, that are copied in their exact same form and tweeted by someone else. Let's say you tweeted "I love biscuits", I can then copy your tweet and send it again, which is called retweeting. Usually people retweet funny/interesting links or quote's.
