Just wondering does anybody know which competencies are mandatory at each of the 'understand, apply and integrate' levels when completing the CA Diary? (I work in audit) :p

    Thanks!

I can only draw on my experience from when I was a mentor which is over a year ago (I qualified under the old diary system).

You must be able to demonstrate competencies in Financial Reporting (FA1 - FA4) along with the Business Environment (CB1 - CB6) and Professional Values (PV1 - PV7). In addition, indepth experience should be demonstrated in one of the specialist areas (in your case - audit).

The levels of understand, apply and integrate are more related to your level of input/expertise in the use of each competency and you would generally progress from one level to the next each year (e.g. year 1 = understand, year 2= apply).

There is no set number of each competency to be achieved, more emphasis is placed on quality writing through reflection on the learning experience.

Watch for claiming your audit days for audit certificate, based on days on job and not directly claimed from audit competencies ticked.

I think if you go to print your report which summarises the competencies and the level there is an * beside the ones that you have to get.
