No idea what forum to post this question but does anyone know what glue they use to attach those free sample sachets in magazines?

Moved from Gift & Festivity & Party Ideas, I think it might be better suited here? Apologies if not, feel free to move it back :)

i know the stuff you mean but i've also seen packets of glue dots that are kinda the same - clear blobs of glue on a backing sheet with a clear cover sheet over them. you see them in card making sections of craft shops. in my limited experience the pritt ones are kinda crappy as they came off what i was trying to stick them to.

Not sure what you have in mind to glue but that type of adhesive is usually applied by a glue gun. You can get them in various flavours depending on what you intend to glue, High temperature, low temperature (more suitable for paper and card) and variable temperature although these can be expensive.
Have a read of this link and it may help you-

I use glue dots to adhere some decorations to handmade cards and it behaves very like the stuff you're talking about. The publishing companies must use it by the ton though and theirs seems to be a bit stronger than what I use. There must be various grades of the stuff.

Try pop-up (3D) glue dots for cardmaking/decoupage, rather than the flat glue dots.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I want to stick a small plastic gift (Guitar Plectrum) to paper. The glue needs to be that soft squidgy rubber type you see on free samples in mags so it doesn't remain on the Plectrum and any residue can be easily removed with a finger nail.

What would probably work best in this instance would be a rubber cement or a water based latex formulation like Copydex.
This won't leave a residue and is removable.
Its pretty versatile as well, I've used a dilute version to mask areas on airbrushing projects.

I didn't want to start a new thread when it's kinda related to this one, does anyone know a place to get descent priced glue sticks or is €10.00 actually reasonable

The price of glue sticks will depend on the brand, type and size - hot/cool, mini/standard, and of course the quantity per pack.

That's presuming you mean the glue sticks for glue guns!

It's small skinny ones like this (http://www.technoflowcanada.com/tools/DSC00155.jpg) for a glue gun, well value for quantity if you get what I mean? I'm new to glue guns, can use em that's about it

They look like the one for mini glue guns. I sell those and can PM you tomorrow with price/size etc if you're interested. (As far as I remember, they're under a fiver but I can't remember how many in the pack.)

I saw some glue sticks in my local pound shop, but not sure if they would be for your type of glue gun.
