    Hi,

First post here...eh my espresso machine has conked  & i think its the basket that is not allowing the espresso out but unfortunately I havent a clue where or how I would get a spare one. Some help would be appreciated if anyone has any suggestions? I have a cheap Russell Hobbs Torino machine but it had been doing the business until recently! Main issue is that college is starting back & I am coffeeless in the mornings....Thanks!

Honestly I'd be very surprised if it was your basket that needed to be replaced - more than likely the machine needs a good clean with some espresso cleaning products and a descale. Of course if you have never cleaned/descaled its possible the machine has packed it in.

You should try to screw off the group shower screen as if you have never cleaned it there will be significant build up. You may also need to backflush the machine with some proper cleaning products (cafiza/joe glow) and descale the machine.

Cheers for that, the only reason I thought it was the basket is because the system is pumping water through the handle no problem without the basket in place and it's just when I put the basket in that it doesn't flow. Could this still mean that the machine is acting up and not the basket?
