Garda Vetting. Where is it done?

I'm going to be starting a childcare course soon and received a letter from the college stating my "garda vetting session" date and time.

Do I need to go to the garda station and get a form first or something? Or does a guard come to the college on the day and do it there to everyone??

When I did it, it involved filling out a long and elaborate form and sending it off.

Maybe you'll be filling out your form then? Keep in mind everywhere you've ever lived and everywhere you've ever travelled...

If you've spent more than six months in another country you might want to go about finding out about getting a police check from that country. I'm doing Early Childhood Studies in UCC & had to get a police check from Australia because I'd been there for 9 months.
