Picked up one of these today in Kildare Village, in the kitchen shop (forget the name). I already had the older model, but the new model produces hotter water, is quieter, and looks better.

It is reduced to €34, and they have a 10% off sale, so I paid under €31 for it.

actually read his post rather than just the title - he already has one, and he has clearly already researched the new model too.

i did read it and i bought the same unit in same shop for similar price

    its a factory refurb

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-BR308845-Quick-Deluxe-Stainless/dp/B0024NL6U4/ref=dp_ob_title_kitchen

bottom line is its noisy as hell and does not boil the water

same shop has been flogging factory refurb units with limited guarantee for the past few months

ask yourself why so many refurbs?

    maybe its just me......

I'll let you know in a week, but there's definitely boiling (or close enough to it) water coming out of this one, and my brother in law has had one for almost two years now.

best of luck with it hopefully you got one that works longer than mine:)

the filters are a bit pricey and hard to come by, arnotts stock them. if your up north sainsburys stock them and nearly always have them with 25% off or similiar

why didn't you bring it back? It still came with full 12 month warranty and is still covered under sale of goods act.

I remember looking at them too, but was told by the staff member that water was not really hot enough for coffee. Bought a nespresso instead:D

Maybe they have it right with the new model.

I have one of these and I have no problems with it whatsoever. If I was in the area, i would definately buy one tbh.

Always a little worried about these things from a safety angle, especially if you've kids around.

    I have one,

Works fine ... very simple concept, with a heat exchanger. Not boiling but hot enough for tea.
