Looking online and it's like a maze so looking for people who have scoil's in mind.

I have an 8 month old son and am looking to put his name down for a gaelscoil which we hope he will attend in approx 4yrs time.

Looking for scoils in primarily D14 or D16.

If anybody can help out it would be greatly appreciated ;)

Two spring to mind in that area:
Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna, Old Knocklyon Road, Knocklyon, Dublin 16.
Scoil Naithí, Broadford Road, Ballinteer, Dublin 16.

Their contact details are available at the link below.

You should ask them do they implement a Total-Early Immersion policy and when do they introduce the formal teaching of English. Gaelscoileanna have varying immersion policies. A 2007 study showed that students attending gaelscoileanna with longer periods of Total-Early Immersion in Irish (delaying the teaching of English) actually performed better than the national average (and better than other gaelscoileanna with shorter periods of immersion) in reading in Irish and English!

More info on immersion education is available here: http://www.gaelscoileanna.ie/en/immersion-education/

You should also put your child's name down for a year or two in the local Naíonra. I think both gaelscoileanna have Naíonraí attached / connected to or with them.

Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna is a really lovely school, there is such a friendly atmosphere about it.
There are lots of extra curricular activities in the school and there is a real emphasis on music and sport.
    I would reccommend it :D

Scoil Lorcain on the Monkstown Blackrock border is an amazing school, best gaelscoil i've come across, i taught there for a brief stint... I dont really know Dublin well so maybe thats to far away but look into it because theres students from as far South as Wexford and as far North as Louth enrolled (or was when I was there) So its a great school.. Check out its website!!
