Hi guys I am aware this id a fairly broad question, but we put our application in when we applied for planning and are still waiting for banks to decide. Anyone else experiencing hassle?
    Thanks

    Hi,

it took us about 5 months from application to first stage drawdown. We had planning permission long before we applied for planning permission. We started the process in March 2009 and drew our first stage down in August 2009.

I would strongly advise going straight to a broker. We went through one and she was brilliant. She chased the engineer for stage certs at one point. There is no bank that could match the level of service. We were able to call in her offices after hours and sort out stuff. You cannot beat face to face business. Are queries were dealt with straightaway and we could always be sure of getting through easy without being on hold for 15 minutes.

If you are near Dublin/Meath/Kildare, pm me and I will forward on details.

Hi we had a journey with our bank started august 2009 first draw down may 2010, reason each time we asked the bank they said you need this form then 6 weeks later dublin now needs this form filled in, then to really piss me off 6 weeks later that form you filled out is now out of date please fill this one and drop it back in, this went on and on, finally i went face to face and totally lost it, i said stuff that wasnt nice however 2 days later € 50,000. Not a nice time for us, but you know they dont tell the truth at all. No wonder the country is in the mess we are cause before they gave it out no problem , now they want you soul first.

The banks do not want to give out money at the moment, even if they have siad they will, stage payments have become a nightmare in the last two years with the banks always sending them back for the daftest reasons just to delay paying out the money!!! So don't be supprised at very long delays in getting approval and then when you do start building in drawing it down!!

We first went about a mortgage as soon as we got planning. At the time we were living in a 3 bed semi which we had to sell before we were even considered for a mortgage.
Luckily we managed to sell in April 2010 and started the real mortgage process.
It took 5 months before we got final approval and the number of visits to the bank with documents was ridiculous. Our first drawdown was in August...thankfully before the latest interest rate hike.
